Snikt! Four actors join the cast of The Wolverine.

The Wolverine is set in Japan and the first new names are Japanese actors. A couple of the cast members will be recognizable to American audiences, while the others are relative newcomers. It seems that the production company are actually committed to keeping things pretty authentic to the casting.

Hiroyuki Sanada (“Lost,” Rush Hour 3, The Last Samurai) will be playing Shingen, while the veteran actor Hal Yamanouchi (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Push, Sinbad of the Seven Seas) plays Yashida. Also, Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima, both Japanese models who are new to acting, recently cast as Mariko and Yukio.

We don’t know whether Director James Mangold, is going to follow storyline from the comics or if it’s completely astray from the original plot. But so far, the casting seems promising, but we’ll see as more details reveal to surface.

The Wolverine is set to hit theaters July 26, 2013.
