A history lesson to those unaware of the stages that Wolverine has gone through. In the early Wolverine comics, Logan was a mutant whose skeletal structures had been enhanced with adamantium, and his claws were added during that process. But much of the origins of how he got his claws had changed as Marvel decided that the claws are actually bone, and have been since birth.
In the image below, it clearly shows bone claws, and we now know from director James Mangold, that The Wolverine takes place after the X-Men trilogy. So the film isn’t a prequel to the X-Men films, could this be a flashback shot?
