Warner Bros. possibly canceling ALL showings of The Dark Knight Rises

It looks like it’s not just Paris, but ALL showings for The Dark Knight Rises may be halted everywhere due to the senseless tragedy in Aurora, Col.

An executive reportedly said that “Warner was watching the situation and still considering whether to take further measures beyond cancelling the Paris premiere, including cancelling screenings at theater chains“. So it seems that Warner Bros., the studio behind The Dark Knight Rises, is debating as whether the movie should be cancelled or not across countries worldwide, although there is no certain decision made yet.

There are also reports that there have been opinions on whether Warner Bros. should press forward or halt and re-release a few months down the line. However, nothing has been decided at this point of time. Honestly, I think it’d be best for the movie to be pulled, until we have more clarified information.

UPDATE: E! reports that they contacted their own source at Warner Bros. regarding a possible cancellation of screenings who said, “he’d be ‘shocked if that happened, but it’s such an unprecedented situation.

Reports are coming in that the movie will likely not be halted by Warner Bros. although there’s still no official word. All planned publicity events for the film’s stars have been halted and all advertisement for the film has been removed from television.
